14 Autumn self care ideas

Wow! Can you believe that it’s almost Autumn!! A couple of days and we are into another season. I am definitely excited though. Quite honestly this summer has been so wierd it hasn’t even felt like summer so I am looking forward to a proper season. Well one that will feel little more normal anyway. Also Autumn is my favourite season so you know I had to do a post with Autumn self care ideas.

14 Autumn Self care ideas

1. Lighting Autumn candles

Who does not love Autumn candles? If you haven’t already, stock up on your favourites and embrace the cosy glow around your home.

2. Curl up in a blanket with a good book

One of the best things about the evenings getting shorter and the weather getting cooler is that you can snuggle up all cosy in a blanket. Add a good book into the mix and what a fab evening it will be?

3. Cosy pamper night

Of course I had to add a pamper night into the list. Soon I will be sharing my Autumn pamper routine on Youtube so stay tuned for that.

4. Try out some new makeup looks

A new season is the perfect time to try out a new look. Pick up some rustic colour eyeshadows and vampy lipsticks and have fun!! It’s only makeup after all!

5. Have a cosy pj movie night

You can do this with your parner, your family or even get your girls round for a slumber party!

6. Walk amoung the leaves

Nature is always beautiful but this time of year it is so colourful. Take advantage of that beauty. Go for walks, hikes, cycles and don’t forget to jump in the leaves!

7. Games night

Why not enjoy a lovely night in with the family. For so long we were unable to spend time with our loved ones now let’s make up for it. Invite your favourite people and have an epic games night!

8. Bake something pumpkin

There are so many options! Pie, bread, muffins .. The possibilities are endless. Get in the spirit and bake your pumkin treat!

9. Enjoy an Autumn beverage

So many yummy hot beverages this time of year. You could try a pumpkin spice latte, chai latte, salted caramel hot chocolate and more. There are so many to choose from. Take a little “me time” and enjoy a tasty beverage.

10. Start a craft project

Why not start an Autumn craft project? There are so many different types. Here are a few ideas –

  • Make a wreath
  • Press leaves into a photo album
  • Paint rocks
  • Paint pine cones
  • Make table center piece
  • DIY home decor

11. Make the most of Halloween

Even if Halloween isn’t really your thing you can still get in the spirit and enjoy it to the fullest. For example I do not like scary movies or haunted houses or any thing like that. I am a big scaredy cat when it comes to that kind of thing however I embrace it in so many different ways

  • Dressing up
  • Baking cookies
  • Making toffee apples
  • Eating all the sweet treats
  • Dressing up the house
  • Watch Disney Halloween movies
  • Playing Halloween games

Just because you don’t like blood, guts and gore doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the holiday!

12. Curl up by the fire

Is there any better sound or smell than a crackling fire? Why not use some don’t time to curl up watch a movie, read a book or just talk to your loved ones with the fire in the background. So relaxing !

13. Duvet day

I did this recently and it was just the best thing ever!! Curled up in bed ALL DAY! I honestly haven’t done that (apart for if I am really really sick) in years!! Believe me it feels so much better when you are not sick. Set aside one day just to have a complete duvet day. You don’t even have to do it by yourself. Have a duvet day with junk food and bad TV!! Amazing!!

14. Make a list of all the things that you are thankful for

This is kind of the season of gratitude and thankfulness. Our American cousins celebrate thanksgiving around this time of year. Although we don’t celebrate the holiday I still think it’s really nice to remember all the things for which we are greatful. Make a list and it is sure to make you feel good!
